Key appointment for Icon Polymer
19th October 2011
Leading polymer component manufacturer Icon Polymer has made a key appointment with the addition of a new Group Sales Director to further enhance its growth.
Neal Hillier joins the Group from Serck Aviation, part of the Meggitt Group, where he was Director of Sales for Thermal Management.
Icon Polymer designs and manufactures high performance, safety critical, polymer-based components for aerospace, defence, transportation, power, energy and various industrial markets. It was ranked as one of the UK's fastest growing private equity-backed companies in the latest Sunday Times Deloitte Buyout Track 100 (7 February).
The management buy-out of the group took place in July last year and has led to a series of key appointments to further strengthen the team.
"His appointment will enable us to accelerate the execution of our growth plan." Neal Hillier said: "It is exciting to join such a customer-focused team with a well-defined vision and ability to effect positive change. I am looking forward to contributing to the further success of Icon."
Prior to Serck Aviation, Mr Hillier spent nearly ten years with Dunlop Precision Rubber, Leicestershire bringing market knowledge in Icon's core growth markets of commercial aviation, defence and transportation.
Icon Polymer has manufacturing sites in Retford in Nottinghamshire and Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire and exports across the globe. The business has continued to win a series of major contracts, including components for international rail applications, a comprehensive range of fighting vehicles and many custom products for the European Fighter Aircraft, Joint Strike Fighter and Airbus programmes.
