Wind Technology

Icon Polymer is at the cutting edge of blade and vibration control technology for wind power applications. Our products dramatically reduce failure due to fatigue and misalignment, improve efficiency and reliability of wind turbines and wind power generating equipment. We use the i-PC™ (Icon Process Control) System to produce a wide range of high strength and light weight composite materials and components from a combination of metals and engineered fabrics with special polymer formulations that can easily cope with the exceptional loads and provide the fatigue handling characteristics needed for wind power applications.

Icon Polymer composite materials and assemblies are proven to deliver the strength and durability that is required in the corrosive and high-load environments typical to wave energy conversion and capture systems. Icon Polymer's i-PC™ System produces high performance materials by combining special polymer formulations with the latest developments in engineered textiles. Our unique control systems and processes deliver fabric composites that excel in the challenging operating conditions of wave power generation.

Icon Polymer Anti-vibration mounts and components are available in a variety of configurations and materials that are ideal for use in demanding hydro power applications. We also offer SILVERLINE® rubber-lined, water-lubricated bearings provide an environmentally friendly alternative to oil lubricated bearings. They outperform overly complicated oil lubricated alternatives and have an excellent track record in a wide range of Hydro-power bearing applications. Our design and manufacturing facilities are flexible and offer scalable cost effective low volume solutions alongside the capacity to handle high volume production runs. We produce market leading rubber to metal components, assemblies and engineered polymer composite fabrics that are developed and optimised specifically for Renewable Energy applications.
